Eagle Scout Project @ Great North Mountain Area
My Potomac Appalachian Trail Club (PATC) colleague, Jim Tomlin, maintains trails on the Great North Mountain in the George Washington National Forest and works closely with the rangers there. They have need of Eagle Scout candidates who would be willing to coordinate with the Forest Service, PATC, and other land use managers to design, build, and install trail information signs on various Great North Mountain trails. The signs would be about 3 x 4 feet covered with Plexiglas with an angular roof to cover the signs. Materials such as pressure treated lumber, plywood, and Plexiglas may be available free of charge from the Forest Service.
For more information, you can contact Jim Tomlin at jftomlin at gmail.com, or you can use me as a point of contact.
