[Adults] Thursday's Meeting and November Campout

Parents,

    Thursday's meeting will be a Patrol Leaders Council (PLC) and a Board of Review.  The only scouts that need to attend are Marco (SPL), Peter (PL), Tyler (PL), and Sam Evans (BOR for Tenderfoot).

    On Saturday, November 11th, the boys will meet at the church by 0800.  We will conduct a patrol based trail hike and orienteering event using a geo-cached treasure hunt format.  (Translation: We are going to drop each patrol (and one adult) off at a starting point within Prince William Forest Park.  The boys will be given a set of rules, 1 map, two compasses, a clue, and a location they must find.  Once they navigate to this location, they will use the clue and skills they have learned to find the next clue/location.  This will continue until the boys reach camp.  If they do not have to retrace their steps they should have hiked about 7 miles by the end of the day.  Sunday morning we will focus on God and what we learned the previous day.)  We will return the boys to the church NLT 1200 on Sunday.  Patrol leaders should give you a gear list this Sunday.  Each scout will be responsible for their own food (they should reference their books to ensure they are getting proper nutrition, and they will have to take into account weight, and preparation).
